The NBA All-Star Game is an annual game opposing the best players of the Eastern Conference against the best players of the Western Conference; it is also commemoration of their season’s achievement. The NBA created an entire weekend of festivities around this event: the NBA All-Star Week-end. Each player selected at least once for the All-Star games gains the status of “All-Star.”

Lucky me! This year, the NBA All-Star week-end will take place in Orlando, FL at the Amway Center on February 25th and 26th.

Being from France, basketball and American football are not a big part of our culture; the French national sport is soccer, mostly like all other European countries.
The last FIFA World Cup, that occurs every 4 years, was held in South Africa in 2010. The finals between Spain and Netherlands attracted more than 700 million viewers from all around the world (25 million in the US).
“FIFA reported that ratings in the US rose 50 percent from the 2006 tournament.” The next FIFA World Cup will take place in Brazil in 2014.
